WHAT ARE WE LEARNING: Finding INSPIRATION for OUR Yearbook!
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT: Looking at previous yearbooks is important for inspiration because it helps you avoid repeating past mistakes, discover what themes and design trends are effective, and identify new story angles. Reviewing past books allows you to build on previous successes, learn from what didn't work, and ensure your current yearbook is fresh and relevant while still being a unique and cohesive chronicle of the school year.
HOW WILL MY TEACHER KNOW WHAT I LEARNED: Today we will discuss as a TEAM how to proceed in various part of planning our yearbook. Each student will have buy-in on its development!
Journey? Travel?
Scrapbook?
Mixed elements but in the scrapbook theme??
Torn?
We also must think of Layouts!
Take out a sheet of paper
Put your name at the top (You will be turning this in!)
As you look through previous yearbooks, write down things you like and things you didn't!
Make note of the theme, year and even school!
What made you enjoy this yearbook?
What didn't you like?
Is there a layout that you thought was the best?
