WHAT ARE WE LEARNING: Housekeeping

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT: Organization is SUPER important in our technology world. Keeping files in order and creating certain methods makes life alot easier!

HOW WILL MY TEACHER KNOW WHAT I LEARNED: Today you will make some changes to your computer and do a little housekeeping!

COMPUTERS...

If your computer is not ON...

Press the POWER BUTTON on the top of your assigned computer! (Button is the TRIANGLE on the top of the CPU)

Please do NOT touch the connectors
Please do not Plug anything into computer without permission

FIRST...let's log on to our computers

Click the BOTTOM LEFT..."Other User"
Enter your FRESNO UNIFIED email (ends with @fresnou.org)
and Password...Remember your password should contain ONE CAPITAL LETTER
(hint: it is on your class schedule at the top...keep this paper safe!)
Wait to computer to "get ready!"

PASSWORDS! If you forget your password in this class or any other class, DO NOT have it changed! Tech teachers keep a record of your passwords for you since we use many programs and utilize the same password!!!

Creative Cloud

Welcome to Adobe Creative Cloud!

You have limited access...

but alot of programs.

Hint: we will NOT use them all!

Click DONE

Use your fresnou.org email and password!

Find InDesign

Click INSTALL

Find Photoshop

Click INSTALL

This may already be on your computer!

Find Bridge

Click INSTALL

Now please click the - (minus) on the top right corner to minimize the Creative Cloud window! (the install can happen "behind the scenes" while we do other things!)

DOWNLOADING

What you NEED to know!!!!

Make a new folder on your desktop...

Right click on your desktop

Select NEW>FOLDER

A new folder will appear

Name the folder...

If the name is not highlighted, right click the folder name and select Rename

Name the folder: YEARBOOK

STOP! SHOW ME ON YOUR SCREEN!

CHANGING THE BROWSER!

Open CHROME

At the Bottom center of your screen, Click in the search bar
Click SETTINGS

In the New window

On the Left, choose APPS
Then select DEFAULT APPS

Scroll down

Find and click on GOOGLE CHROME

SET DEFAULT

Click SET DEFAULT to make Chrome your default browser!
Close window (Click on X on top right corner)

Let's change a setting!

Open CHROME

Click the 3 dots on the top right and choose SETTINGS

On the left, select DOWNLOADS

In the downloads box, click the CHANGE button (next to LOCATION)

<On the left,

Select THIS PC then DESKTOP then YEARBOOK FOLDER

Click SELECT FOLDER (Bottom right)

AND CLICK THE IMAGO ICON AGAIN!!!

It should now log you in!

Once we are logged in...

Under LESSONS: Select

CAMERA GEAR (Lesson)

DUE TODAY!!!!

Click Play Lesson

After each video complete the Study Guide then watch the next video and do the Study Guide.

Continue until ALL STUDY GUIDES ARE COMPLETED!

Please take your time and answer as correctly as possible. Make sure you COMPLETE ALL STUDY GUIDES FOR CREDIT!

AT THE END OF CLASS...

Logging off! (NOT shutting down!)

Remember to SAVE (ctrl + S) any file before logging off!

SHORTCUT!

Press and hold the CTRL and ALT keys on your keyboard + the DELETE key (above the Backspace key!)

Then...

select SIGN OUT!

Signing out closes all programs opened!

PLEASE NOTE!

DO NOT press the power button on the computer or turn off the power supply...this will DAMAGE the computer!!!
