Check the Spelling...
Select EDIT>SPELLING>
Check Spelling (Ctrl + I)
Note the shortcut:
As words are noted in dialog box, you can choose to Skip, Change or Ignore
To change:
Click on the suggested Correction and select CHANGE
InDesign will move to the next word.
You are NOT done until reach the end of your document!
SPELL CHECK COMPLETE!
Check your links...
Select WINDOW>LINKS
Note the shortcut:
Let's discuss what this means!
On the LINKS panel:
Files are listed by NAME, Status and Page
If a file has an icon in the STATUS column, we need to check it!
The square/triangle means the file is embed...we are good!
The ? means the file is MISSING...we need to relink it!
If a link is missing (?)
Right click the image in the LINKS panel and select RELINK and go to your folder to choose the image
Files with a number in parenthesis (2) means the file was used more than once!
Click the Arrow to the left of the file to show the duplicated files...
Right click ONE of the images and select GO TO LINK
InDesign will show you by selecting the actual image in your layout.
If that image is NOT the one you want to replace, select the OTHER file in the Links panel to find the duplicated image.
To replace the image with another
Right click the image in the LINKS panel and select RELINK and go choose another image or
Click the image in the layout and PLACE a new image (Ctrl + D)
We need to SAVE AS our final file to our computer...
This we will do AFTER EVERYTHING is proofed and corrected!

Save to YOUR COMPUTER!
Click the Save on Your Computer button
On the left click THIS PC
Select Desktop
Select Yearbook Folder
Name the document:
"First Name Last Name Event"
Example: John Smith Varsity Football
Click SAVE
Package InDesign files for sharing...
Once all of your links are good, we need to package the file.
Select FILE>PACKAGE
Note the shortcut:

This gives us a glance at all the parts
Look for any errors. Mainly we are looking to make sure nothing is missing!
Fonts:
This gives us a glance at all the fonts used.
Click on SHOW PROBLEMS ONLY
Are there any fonts missing?
Links and Images:
This gives us a glance at all the images used.
Make sure the status does NOT have it as missing!
Are there any images missing?
CLICK PACKAGE!
CLICK SAVE!
InDesign needs to know WHERE you want the package
Choose This PC>Desktop>Yearbook>Layout1
Make sure these boxes are checked:
Copy Fonts
Copy Linked Graphics
Update Graphic Links in Package
Include IDML
Include PDF (Print)
Click OPEN
CHANGE THE FOLDER NAME!
For the FOLDER NAME (make sure PACKAGE is on the end!):
First Initial Last Initial "Event" PACKAGE
Example: TE Varsity Football_PACKAGE
Click PACKAGE
InDesign protects the use of fonts...
Click OK
This warning means you need to fix your text!
Click CANCEL and come see me!
Wait a few minutes for InDesign to do its job!
Upload your PACKAGED Layout!
We need to do thisTODAY!
Open TEAMS
Click the SHARED tab on top
Click the PACKAGED LAYOUTS folder to open it!
Open your Yearbook Folder>Layout1 folder (where you packaged your layout)
Drag Your Layout FOLDER file into the PACKAGED LAYOUTS folder!
At the top it will show it is uploading multiple files...WAIT until it is done!
When it is done...You will see that it has Uploaded the Packaged Folder into the Teams Folder!
If the file reads it will replace something let me know immediately!
Open your Second Layout and repeat the same process!
