Yearbooks aren't just about Sports and Events!
WHAT ARE WE LEARNING: Candid Photos and Yearbook!
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT: Candids – Making sure you capture those unplanned, spontaneous moments is what makes a yearbook special and engaging. Having someone there to take the photos is important, but more important is getting the photo, so use whatever camera you have with you – fancy or phone camera, as long as you capture those moments!
HOW WILL MY TEACHER KNOW WHAT I LEARNED: You will follow along with instruction and use what we have learned to handle the camera properly!
Creating a well rounded yearbook involves capturing the ENTIRE picture!
Rules to tell teachers if needed:
Student will come by 15 minutes after tardy bell.
Student will not disrupt classroom or speak with friends etc.
Student will need to move around the room, taking different angles of students working on given assignments and/or teacher instruction. (teacher will be in photos also)
Teachers and students are asked NOT to pose...these are CANDID shots!
TODAY (Thursday, April 9) yearbook students (YOU) will check out a camera.
You will go to the class you have gotten permission from.
For approximately 15 minutes, you will photograph the class (from all angles of the room)
Making sure students and instructors are included. Remember candid, NOT posed!
You MUST be back by 12:20 PM!
TIPS!
If you have chosen a class with only one grade...Great! Take as many candid photos in the 15 minutes you have.
Do not interact or disrupt students...you are to be silent!
Students do not need to pose
If a student does not want their photo taken DO NOT TAKE THEIR PHOTO...move on
once you have you photos, leave quietly and come back to class!
Set your camera to M!
You are in control of ALL settings again!
M (Manual)
Set your ISO to AUTO!
Remember, once you set your shutter speed and aperture, check the ISO to make sure the exposure meter is in the center!
SHUTTER SPEED: at least 1/250
This will control most small movements.
Set your APERTURE!
F7 will have most of the room in focus
F4-6 will blur the background!
Remember a small number means a bigger opening and shallow DOF
Large Number means more will be in focus!
Click the Right Cross Key
Lets change the Drive mode to
