WHAT ARE WE LEARNING: Double Exposure
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT: Learning double exposure in Photoshop is a powerful way for high school students to master core digital editing skills like blending modes, layer masks, and selections. It bridges historical analog photography techniques with modern digital tools, fostering deep artistic vision.
HOW WILL MY TEACHER KNOW WHAT I LEARNED: You will follow along with instruction and use what we have learned to create amazingly photos!
Double click to open the folder on your desktop
Create a NEW FOLDER INSIDE YOUR YEARBOOK FOLDER
(right click...New Folder)
Name the folder:
DOUBLE EXPOSURE
You will be placing shots you take in this folder (before editing!)
For this assignment, you will need to take photographs to create a Double Exposure. The goal is to capture the essential elements of the image and draw the viewer's attention to those specific details.
SUBJECTS:
Use different subjects, people will be the most defined!
Your Initials DoubleExposure1.psd
Your Initials DoubleExposure2.psd
Your Initials DoubleExposure3.psd
INTEREST PHOTOS:
Use different interest images!
Look for places with interest.
Take more than just what is required.
Be creative!
Set your camera to M!
You are in control of ALL settings again!
M (Manual)
Set your ISO to 100!
Click the Right Cross Key
Lets change the Drive mode to SINGLE SHOOTING
This means you click the button one shot at a time!
Get low! Take the image from DIFFERENT ANGLES!
Think of YOUR Point of view to get the perfect angle!
Decide which images you want to use for your final image!
Always select the best image based upon this criteria:
Does it work for this assignment?
Is it a good exposure?
Is it in focus?
ALL PHOTOS MUST BE DIFFERENT!
Click OPEN
Shortcut: Shift + Ctrl + S
(or File: SAVE AS)
Save as Type: PHOTOSHOP!
Then click Save to Cloud Documents
Save to CREATIVE CLOUD!
Click the Save to CREATIVE CLOUD button
Name the photo:
First initial Last DoubleExposure 1.psd
First initial Last DoubleExposure 2.psd
First initial Last DoubleExposure 3.psd
Click SAVE
Adding the "INTEREST" image!
NOW!
Decide which images you want to add to the image (the interest image)!
Always select the best image based upon this criteria:
Does it work for this assignment?
Is it a good exposure?
Is it in focus?
ALL PHOTOS MUST BE DIFFERENT!
Click OPEN
With the Subject image AND the INTEREST IMAGE OPEN...
Drag the layer (background) from the interest image to the TAB of the subject image (first initial last initial DoubleExposure1.psd) you have open.
Wait for the Subject image to show on screen and Let go!
The workable file will now be added as a layer to your subject file (not as a smart object).
This is a quick way to add files to files without having to copy and paste etc.
The interest image must be on top!
No SIGNATURE required!
EXPORTING Your FILE
Please make sure it is a JPG file!
Save the JPG file in your Yearbook folder>Double Exposure Folder on your desktop!
File Name:
Initials DoubleExposure1.jpg
Initials DoubleExposure2.jpg
Initials DoubleExposure3.jpg
Save as type: JPG (*jpg)
Click SAVE
Go to our Classroom in TEAMS
Select Assignments
Select
YEARBOOK: Double Exposure PHOTOGRAPHY!
Scroll down to MY WORK
Click +ATTACH
Click UPLOAD FROM THIS DEVICE
Select DESKTOP (on the left) then the Yearbook Folder> Double Exposure
Find the JPGs file we EXPORTED and select them:
Initials DoubleExposure1.jpg
Initials DoubleExposure2.jpg
Initials DoubleExposure3.jpg
Click OPEN
Wait for file to upload
File will show up below under My Work
CLICK TURN IN!
NOTE: There MUST be 3 JPG files attached to get credit. Simply clicking TURN IN will not do!!!
TOTAL: 100 POINTS!!!
DUE: Friday, June 5!!
Ctrl+Alt+Delete then select SIGN OFF!
Please place HEADPHONES on your Monitors!
