WHAT ARE WE LEARNING: Missing Teacher!
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT: Why would a teacher need to take time off school? Perhaps they are sick, have an important appointment, need to care for a loved one, etc. I can think of plenty of totally valid reasons. Let's reflect on this question.
HOW WILL MY TEACHER KNOW WHAT I LEARNED: Students will work on the Missing Teacher Sheet!
INSTRUCTIONS!
You will be given a Missing Teacher Report
Make sure your NAME, Period and Computer Number on on the sheet!
Before filling out the Report...TAKE A FEW MINUTES!
Talk with your neighbor about the following thoughts...
Brainstorm a list of creative/interesting/funny resources that a teacher might be absent from school.
What are your teacher’s hobbies/interests?
What does your teacher like to do?
Where do they like to go?
What are some things that your teacher often says?
What DO YOU KNOW ABOUT HER?????
You arrive at school to find that Ms. Eamigh is inexplicably absent! The school staff are starting to get worried, so the principal has put you in charge of the investigation to find your teacher!
Your first order of business is to create a missing teacher poster to put up around the community. Draw a picture of the teacher in the square on the Missing Teacher Report and fill in the information on the right to help with the search. It is okay to stretch the truth a bit based on what you know about your teacher! (please be nice!)
Talk with your neighbors about where she might be? What could have happened to her? What do we know about her?
The police have begun working on the missing teacher case, and they have had a major breakthrough!
Use your imagination, fill out the police case file on the back of the Report with specific details that the "police" have gathered about Ms. Eamigh's disappearance!
Interview your neighbor to find evidence!
What evidence have you collected (either from knowledge you have or from your neighbor!)
Where do others think she is?
When will she be back?
Summarize what you know and what your plan is to find her...and what will you do when you DO find her???
DUE TODAY!!!! Be CREATIVE!!!! (and nice!)
When you are done...Make sure all assignments have been turned in!
Is the latest copy of your yearbook layout in the Teams folder?
