Advertising Our Yearbook!

WHAT ARE WE LEARNING: Yearbook Advertising!

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT: Advertisements are a guaranteed method of reaching an audience. By creating an engaging ad, and spending enough to reach your target users, advertisements can have an immediate impact on business or in our case a Yearbook. This effect could be seen in improved trade or boosted brand recognition, among many different metrics.

HOW WILL MY TEACHER KNOW WHAT I LEARNED: You will create a series of advertisements for our yearbook for Print, social media and TMH!

Why are POSTERS Important?

Posters can be a highly effective means of advertising and promoting a product, service or event. They are a visual medium that can quickly capture the attention of a target audience, convey key information, and leave a lasting impression.

One of the main advantages of posters is that they can be highly targeted (like to students!).

Creating a POSTER Advertisement with Adobe Express!

If you did not download this file...

RIGHT click the image on the left

Select SAVE IMAGE AS

If it asks...

Select DESKTOP>YEARBOOK folder

Select SAVE (this should be a .PNG file)

Open Adobe Express!

Adobe Express

Creative Cloud on Desktop!

First!

Click the Creative Cloud Icon on your DESKTOP to go to your Adobe Creative Cloud files!

On the right, find Adobe Express and click OPEN IN BROWSER!

Let's create a POSTER from our FLYER!

Click YOUR STUFF on the left tool bar...

Find the FLYER we created yesterday (don't click it!)

Should be titled First name Last Name YB FLYER1

Click the elipses (...) on the top right and select DUPLICATE...

Naming it...

In the pop up box...

Change the name to

First Name Last Name YB POSTER 1

Click DUPLICATE

Now open the duplicated file!

Click on the new file!

It should be on the left!

Resize the file...

On the top left, click RESIZE.

Select FLYER

On the left under CUSTOM, Enter 18 x 24 in.

Click RESIZE (on the bottom)

On the top, click SHOW MARGINS

Margins help for printing. Remember to NOT put any art or text in the margin area!

Now just adjust your elements to fit!

Using the same method, click on each element to resize and reposition!

YOU SHOULD MAKE SURE THE POSTER IS LEGIBLE! Posters should have information and detail!!

REMEMBER! On a poster, the reader cannot click! So make sure they get all the info neded!

If you finish early...

Add another page or duplicate the poster and make another poster!

(2nd poster might be Extra Credit if completely different and usable!)

Download the files!

Click the DOWNLOAD button on the top right corner (NOT SHARE)

Select SELECTED PAGE

Select PDF PRINT

Click DOWNLOAD

We will download a PDF file to your YEARBOOK folder!

When it asks where to save, go to your YEARBOOK folder!

Remember! it should be named: First Name Last Name YB Poster1.pdf

File type is Adobe Acrobat Document (its a PDF!)

Be patient...it might take a moment!

Remember who is our Audience?

Want their child to be in the yearbook.
Want to save their child's milestones.
Want to celebrate their child’s milestones.
