WHAT ARE WE LEARNING: Clubs: Info and images amuck!
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT: Clubs and extracurricular activities are what make up the student life section. These activities create memories while keeping students busy and happy. They are a MUST in our yearbook!
HOW WILL MY TEACHER KNOW WHAT I LEARNED: Today we will practice taking GROUP photos in interesting situations!
When you meet with the club, get a feel for where you would like to take the photo.
7 photography tips for shooting with big groups
Be confident.
Arrange people in a staggered formation.
Keep the group close together.
Make sure people's faces aren't covered.
Be strategic about lighting.
Shoot a sequence of photos.
Let your subjects have fun!
Taking Group Photos
Use a fast shutter speed. Remember not everyone will be still!
At least 1/60 of a second...try 1/100 or faster!
But pay attention to what is behind the subjects. This photo has a student back there!
Its not an extreme curve. As groups ge large the ends tend to be out of focus. We adjust this by curing our focus and bringing the subject inward
We will be using a wide angle lens. So composition is IMPORTANT!
Position people at angles, not just shoulder to shoulder. Have fun!
Take a funny photo (we might use it!)
Look around, is anything distracting?
Remember to BACK UP...you can crop it later!
And encourage them to be creative! We don't have to stick with the same ol' boring group photos!
Remember to look at the composition as a whole. Is it balanced? What would it look like on the page?
Did you receive a reply?
You will be responsible for your Club page, Photos, Information and taking the Group photo!
In the Teams Photo Folder, if your event has photos you can start to look through them and copy them to the FAVORITES FOLDER (within that folder).
Each FAVORITES Folder needs about 20-30 photos in it to choose from.
Also, try looking for photos with a interesting person shot that can be cut out!
