Congrats to the 2024 Yearbook Staff!
2024 Grand Prize Winner - Best overall yearbook design - High School
This achievement recognizes Hoover High School for putting together a notable yearbook at the High School level. The Hoover High School yearbook was selected from hundreds of schools that submitted entries from around the world.
Of their theme, long-time adviser Johnny Stafford stated, “I want to submit our book to see how it stacks up against the work of others. We developed our theme by trying to capture the mood and essence of the year. To our school, the book is a history book. It really captures who we are this year.”

WHAT ARE WE LEARNING: Clubs: Info and images amuck!
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT: Clubs and extracurricular activities are what make up the student life section. These activities create memories while keeping students busy and happy. They are a MUST in our yearbook!
HOW WILL MY TEACHER KNOW WHAT I LEARNED: Today we will contact the club adviser you chose and send an email!
Each club has a time and day that they meet...AND an ADVISER!
The email should pop up (it will be their first.last@fresnounified.org)
When you see it select it!

Yearbook would like to meet for __________Club Photos and Info!
Remember to end with your full name!
The body should greet the adviser
Then write a paragraph about what you need!
You need to meet!
You need to take candid photos
You need to interview to find out about the club
You need to visit again to take the Group Photo! (during the first meeting you should find a good place to take the group photo when you return!)
(Don't just copy mine!)
Remember, when you email (or even text) others can read it wrong....
Read the following sentence:
I didn’t say he stole the money.
Naturally, some words carry a little more stress than others. That is just how English works. But notice that one single word doesn’t grab your attention. Yet, by putting stress on one word each time, we can give the seven-word sentence seven different meanings.
Example:
I didn’t say he stole the money.
Example:
I didn’t say he stole the money.
Example:
I didn’t say he stole the money.
Example:
I didn’t say he stole the money.
Example:
I didn’t say he stole the money.
Example:
I didn’t say he stole the money.
Example:
I didn’t say he stole the money.
So, improving your sentence stress will help you to express your intended meaning more clearly as you speak and type. It will also help you to understand when reading, perhaps the inflection is not as it seems!
When you are done writing your email, ask your neighbor/elbow partner to read it!
Once you are confident, click SEND!
You will be responsible for your Club page, Photos, Information and taking the Group photo!
In the Teams Photo Folder, if your event has photos you can start to look through them and copy them to the FAVORITES FOLDER (within that folder).
Each FAVORITES Folder needs about 20-30 photos in it to choose from.
Also, try looking for photos with a interesting person shot that can be cut out!
PLEASE DO NOT DELETE ANY PHOTOS!
